Good Foods Market & Café celebrates Chinese New Year and Mardi Gras in a unique blend of the two called February Fusion on February 18, 19, and 20.
What: Chinese New Year and Fat Tuesday fall only days apart this year. Good Foods Market & Café is taking the day in the middle, fusing the two into one, and creating three days of extraordinary fun and flavor called February Fusion. Andouille Chop Suey, Szechuan Tofu Creole, Cajun Tempura Veggies, and Bayou Miso Dirty Rice are a few of the dishes you will run across at February Fusion. Ever had a fortune cookie with green and purple sugar sprinkles and found a plastic baby inside? We call those King Cookies and they will be served by our Coffee Bar all three days. The menu will vary daily. The hot buffet will be open after brunch on Sunday from 2 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., then Monday and Tuesday 11 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Chinese New Year: The Four Seasons Kung Fu Team will perform a lion dance at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 18.
Mardi Gras: Keith Otterson, local blues musician, will play 11 a.m. – 1p.m. and 5 – 7 p.m. Other musicians and street performers will be providing entertainment throughout the store all day.
Menu sneak peak: Trinity Egg rolls – shredded peppers, onion, garlic, and Cajun seasoning stuffed into an egg roll wrapper.
Sweet & Sour Triad – alligator, crawfish, and chicken battered and served with spicy sweet & sour sauce.
Cajun Bok Choy – sautéed Bok Choy seasoned with Cajun spices.
Blackened Szechuan Chicken – boneless chicken pan-seared with blackened seasoning and topped with spicy Szechuan.
